Answer:

Yes, I can describe a situation where I had to handle a difficult team member and how I managed to resolve the conflict while ensuring project success.

During my time working as a Java Developer at XYZ company, I was tasked with leading a project where I had a team member who was consistently struggling to meet deadlines and was not performing at the required level.

To resolve this issue, I first took the initiative to have a one-on-one meeting with the team member, where I discussed their work and evaluated what was causing the lag in their performance. After the discussion, I found out that the team member was struggling to keep up with the pace of the project, as this was their first attempt at working on such a large-scale project.

After understanding the problem area, I took some constructive steps to help the team member. Firstly, I allocated some extra time to help the team member, in terms of guiding them on their tasks and being open to questions. Secondly, I provided them with additional resources and training material to help them improve their knowledge in the specific areas where they were struggling. Thirdly, I provided regular feedback on their performance, so that they could improve upon it and stay on track with the project deadlines.

With focused attention, additional training and positive feedback, the team member began to accomplish their assigned tasks with much better accuracy and speed. They were soon able to work on larger projects on their own and contribute significantly to the success of the project.

Overall, I have found that the most effective way to manage a difficult team member is through open communication, a positive attitude towards their performance and by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and support they need to succeed.
